Be warned! I cannot comment on rooms service or location specifically as my issue is with the voucher system they operate. My in-laws bought my wife and I an afternoon tea voucher for 2 at a cost of £47.50 for Christmas 2023. Due to an oversight the voucher was not used within the 9 months specified on the voucher. I requested an extension, as a gesture of good will, and was basically told no extension would be given. Therefore, the money had been lost with nothing being provided in return. I do not believe this is an isolated case so please be aware when buying a voucher from the Earl that if it is not used within the time stipulated your money has been taken but with nothing being provided in return. This does not seem fair to me but despite phone calls and emails to the Earl I have hit a brick wall so the money has been written off and lessons have been learnt. I hope this review can prevent others from losing money in this way. Use it or lose it! You have been warned!

The dish was perfectly prepared, with fresh ingredients and incredible attention to detail. The presentation was spot on, and the flavors were amazing. The staff were also fantastic—friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better. The atmosphere was elegant yet welcoming, a great spot to relax and enjoy a quality meal over a business meeting. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a delicious breakfast or a great dining experience overall. I’ll definitely be back for more business meetings for sure

I was overcharged for my room. Online companies advertised £86, a local friend booked direct and they charged me £130. I've emailed them 3 times to complain and haven't even had the courtesy to respond. 14 of us planned to book for 3 nights to visit Doncaster races next month and have had to book elsewhere.

I stayed at the Earl of Doncaster in December and was very impressed. The hotel staff are polite, the building and rooms are well maintained with a different look to them. The food was great. All in all very happy with the experience.

We came here yesterday for our family Christmas meal, and it was a mixed experience. The room itself was nice, there was only one other table eating so it was quite quiet. However there must have been an event going on upstairs as there was occasionally loud bass coming from upstairs drowning out the music downstairs. We even heard them doing the cha cha slide. The staff were nice, but our server did seem a bit inexperienced, which is understandable. Things were brought out in a strange order, despite the place being quiet. For example, I had practically finished my dinner before they brought out cranberry sauce. I asked the server a question about the dish, she told me she'd check with the kitchen and just never came back to me. The food was okay. I had the winter vegetable soup for starters, and it was the blandest soup I had ever tasted in my life. Everyone who had it had to fill it with salt for it to taste of anything, I would suggest that they look at adding more seasoning to the recipe. The main courses were good, other than the sauce issue I mentioned above. Dessert was okay, a bit too sickly and not as balanced as I would have liked, but not bad. Overall, we had an okay visit but it felt very disorganised and at times I felt as though the staff weren't sure what they were doing. I would come here again if they made service a little smoother and worked on the soup!

Xmas party 2024, lovely hotel and decor, nice Christmas decorations and lovely hard working staff, food should have been much better quality for the price, more Christmas tunes at a Christmas party, we didn’t have any n please don’t start tidying table decorations away from 11pm when the party ends at 12, it’s just the little things hope 2025 improves for you x

Had our work Christmas doo here. What a lovely hotel. Was really impressed with the inside and how much effort has been put in. It looked fantastic, and we had a great evening. The hotel overall was really clean, and the room that we stayed in was nice. Food and entertainment were excellent, so thank you. Coffee bags were a welcome treat and much better than the usual Nescafe only in your room. Had a great breakfast and again good service. My only slight gripe was that bar staff were very slow. Took 10 to 15 mins to get a drink, which I think isn't ideal. Staff struggled to notice who had been waiting and who had just strolled up to the bar. Other than that tiny niggle,c was ace and would use again.

Experienced the gorgeous interiors, the great service, a little bit of entertainment and some wonderful food. The food way exceeded my expectations. I'd never dined at the Earl before and we were booked as a group of 8 to celebrate a 50th birthday. The evening was a Christmas part theme with Soul singers afterwards. So, when the Christmas Dinner arrived and it tasted the way it did, I was very pleasantly surprised. The kitchen had catered for a large number of customers that evening and the quality of the produce and the cooking was fabulous. Just wasn't expecting that level for such an evening. Been to other places where the quality of food for such an evening, has not been a priority. It was a marvellous evening with great food and dome lovely wines.

Four of us went on three day trip. Nice hotel. Unique decor. Nice room. Powerful shower. Service at breakfast and dinner very good. Two negatives though, slightly overcharged on dinner bill but did get sorted but considered it 'not just a mistake'. The other, more importantly, I did not like my dinner and neither did two others. Speaking for myself, I got simple burger and fries for mains. Fries really good but burger won the worst burger I have ever tasted award. I have enjoyed McDonald's more than that. Pure meaty taste, no flavour no fat content just extremely dry. Its like using only 5% fat mincemeat to make a burger. It just did not taste good. Healthy maybe but disgusting. I tried but left half. I was not alone in my opinion let's just say.

Stayed for a conference and the hotel is amazing. Staff food and facilities were all very good. Would definitely come again for the afternoon tea.

Our room was very roomy. The front desk was incredibly helpful and the bar n restaurant staff were very nice and friendly. This establishment couldn't be more helpful. We're very impressed.

Hired a private room and bar for a family birthday party, the function room and hotel was absolutely fantastic. We had a 3 course set menu for 19 of us, the food was brilliant and service impeccable, they even catered for a couple of last minute changes. The lady in charge of the party, the barman, and night manager were a credit to the hotel and couldn't do enough for us. I would recommend the private dining rooms without hesitation.

We didn't stay her we attended to a celebration of my friends life. The place is absolutely stunning. It took my breath away, very high class. Clean and beautiful. The service was brilliant and the staff were friendly and helpful. They did my friend proud.

The staff were very pleasant, lovely retro place, reception is excellent. Our room was very nice and spacious. Clean apart from ceiling light. Tea n coffee facility's in room. Can get extra if needed. Our lights fused at about 8am, bathroom was very dark. Couldn't do hair or makeup. Someone did try n sort it. Shame it spoilt Our experience.

Attended a private function in the ballroom. Staff were friendly and the food was great. From what I saw of the hotel it is gorgeous and very clean.

This is my second time staying here and both times have been amazing. Clean rooms, friendly staff and the food is absolutely phenomenal. Very well presented and the flavours are outstanding! I stayed in a Hilton yesterday and can honestly say that the Earl puts them to shame from rooms, to service and food!
